Our firm was established in 1908 by William M. Cross and
today is guided by the fourth generation of the Cross
family. We recently welcomed the first member of the
fifth generation as a full-time staff member!
Cross Jewelers is a fine retail jewelry store in
Portland, Maine. Our national clients have met us on
visits to Maine and through advertising in publications
like Down East, The Wall Street Journal,
and The New Yorker. In the early 1990’s we began
publishing a series of catalogs featuring our most
popular jewelry designs.
Our origins as a manufacturing jeweler give us a depth
of background in jewelry-making that is essential to
maintaining the standard of excellence which has endured
throughout these 100 years. Simply put, everything we
create must be made with our highest level of attention
to detail; must be made with the finest precious metals;
must be set with the very best gems, and always,
accurately represented.
Cross Jewelers is proud to be a member of the American
Gem Society (AGS).

All items are in stock* and come beautifully boxed and
gift wrapped. If desired we can ship the gift directly
to the recipient.

print our order form and send it to us with all the
information filled out.
*If by chance, an item’s popularity exceeds our
projections, we will notify you immediately and advise
you of our estimated delivery date.
Mail Orders: A downloadable order form is available
here. Please supply all the information requested on the
form so that we can fill your order quickly. We accept
all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, and Discover as well as bank checks, money
orders, or personal checks (2 weeks to clear)
Shipping
Free Shipping is offered on every order to mailing
addresses within the United States. Orders are processed
within 1 business day (example: order placed on Monday
would ship on Tuesday. If ordered on Friday the package
would ship on Monday).
Purchases that total less than $250 – Free US Postal
Service Priority Mail (allow 3 Business Days). Upgrade
to US Postal Service Express Overnight for $15
Purchases that total more than $250 - Free Overnight
delivery by the US Postal Service.
Signature Required on Delivery for any order over $250,
we require an adult signature upon delivery. This
requirement is for your protection.

Shipping to Alternate Addresses
If you will not be home to sign for your package, Cross
Jewelers can arrange to ship your order to your place of
work, or another more convenient destination. As a
security precaution, to protect our customers against
fraud, when you order merchandise to be delivered to a
destination other than your billing address, we will
confirm that your credit card or financing company has
this alternate shipping address on file. To help
expedite your order, simply call your issuing bank and
provide them with your alternate shipping address.
Maine State Sales Tax (5%) will be added to orders
delivered within the state of Maine.
Our
Return Policy
Your
satisfaction is guaranteed. If for any reason you wish
to return an ordered item, please do so within 30 days
for a full credit refund
You may return any item without
custom engraving in its original condition within 30
days of the date of shipment for a refund or exchange.
Refunds must be
issued to the card with which the purchase was made.
Our
Return Process
Once we receive your returned item and it is accepted,
your refund or new item will be processed in just a few
days. Upon receiving your return, the item will be
reviewed by our Quality Assurance department. Please
note that items showing signs of wear or those that have
been engraved, altered, resized, or damaged in any way
cannot be accepted for return. Returns that are
improperly packaged will be refused receipt.
How to Prepare a Return
To return an item to Cross Jewelers, follow our three
step process:

Fill Out The Return Form.
Enclosed with your original receipts is a Green
exchange/return merchandise form. Please fill out
the information including a phone number in case we
need to contact you.

Package Your Return.
Use a sturdy box. Do not use a pouch or flat
cardboard mailer. Jewelry can be crushed in these.
Include all original packaging, as well as the
return form. For security reasons, do not write
Cross Jewelers anywhere on the outside of the
package. Instead use William Cross Inc.

Insure Your Package.
On your invoice, if the price of the item you're
returning is listed as:

Less than $500:
You can ship it via any carrier. Be sure to ship
your item fully insured, and request a return
receipt for confirmation that your shipment has
reached its destination.

More than $500:
Ship your package via US Postal Service
Registered Mail™, insured for the total value of
the contents, and request a return receipt for
confirmation that your shipment has reached
Cross Jewelers. (FedEx® and UPS® will not insure
merchandise over $500.)
