Cross Customer Letters
Below are
some of the letters we have been privileged to receive
Hello from
Boston,
Two months
ago my new husband surprised me with my dream ring. I
had seen a picture of the Lady Captain’s ring in the
Boston Globe a while back and mentioned to him that if
we were to EVER get married this was the ring! This is
the perfect ring for us – we sail and he’s always
referred to me as the “Lady Captain.”
I guess your
ad sparked something! On April 18th, after 10
years together, we finally got married – barefoot, on a
beautiful beach in Maui, at sunset. Not only did I get
my dream ring – I had my dream wedding!
Short story –
while sitting on the plane on our way out to Hawaii, we
noticed little twinkly rainbows flying all over the
cabin of the plane. After a couple minutes trying to
figure out where they were coming from we realized it
was the reflection of the sun hitting my ring – awesome!
Thank you so
very much for the beautiful craftsmanship in creating
such a piece of art – also, thank you for running the ad
– I would have never found such a precious piece of
jewelry otherwise.

Dear Mr.
Pride,
I am writing
to tell you how special Cross Jewelers is. A number of
months ago I clipped out an ad that was in a Sunday New
York Times. It was for your Geese Mate for Life pin. I
didn’t need the pin at the time, but I wanted to save
the ad.
As it turned
out, I ordered the pin in July, and it is lovely. I was
so satisfied with my Cross experience that I have since
purchased the owl with the ruby eyes.
I don’t
remember the person I dealt with on the geese purchase,
but I had a great pleasure working with Eileen on the
owl. I can see why Cross has been in business for
almost 100 years. Your merchandise is outstanding and
your people are fantastic.
As I told
Eileen, I will use Cross whenever I can for any
jewelry. I might live a long way away, but you’ve made
me feel like a friend as well as a customer.
Maybe someday
I’ll visit your lovely city. If I do, I’ll be sure to
stop in.

Dear Andy,
Will and I wanted to thank you for
spending such a great deal of time with us while we
chose a style of engagement ring. Before coming to
Maine, we read several Downeast magazines and when we
saw the ad for the victory ring, we instantly knew we
had to make a pit stop in Portland before heading to
Camden.
Though Will and I have browsed
around at other stores here in New York for rings I have
to admit I was astounded by Cross’ magnificent quality
and cut of diamonds. The triple victory was so
beautiful and ornate. I also like the Lady Captain’s
ring. However, I’ve left the decision up to Will to
choose the ring. And speaking of rings, I can’t wait to
receive my Blue Gray Eyes ring that we ordered.

and the good advice on Camden. We loved it there so
much. We both hope that the timing of another trip to
Camden will fit in with our plans to get engaged there.

Dear Cross Jewelers,
Though this letter is long overdue,
I’ve gained additional appreciation as time progresses.
Firstly, allow me to thank you for your professional
courtesy you afforded me while I chose the perfect
diamond engagement ring for my wife. I don’t think I
mentioned it at the time, but in all the years searching
for a replacement engagement ring, you were the only
jeweler who was able to separate the diamond decision
from the ring decision. All “the others” forced me to
choose one before the other - losing the fact that both
are important choices. And, yes, from now on, there is
Cross Jewelers, and there is all “the others.” I see
all jewelry in a whole new way now that I’ve experienced
the best.
Secondly this Avalon Rose diamond
in the Golden Gate ring seems to be more beautiful
everyday. You were certainly correct in saying you’ll
never see another ring like it – it is simply beautiful
and unique.
This summer, I’m in hopes of
bringing my wife down to see the store and all that it
contains, even though it is difficult during the week.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been a customer of Cross
Jewelers for several years, exclusively through your ads
in the Downeast Magazine. All selections have met or
exceeded my expectations upon opening the UPS packages.
Yours is truly a class act! i.e. packaging, delivery on
time, and quality.
Recently I became intrigued with
the Killick stone necklace. I called your store and was
helped by a salesperson named Jim. He offered to select
a stone and I asked him to include a comparable pair of
J-loop earrings.
Yesterday the UPS man delivered the
jewelry. Outstanding! What a truly professional
accomplishment.
