My Maine
When high school was over, I couldn’t wait to get out, move to a bigger city. More people, more to do, I wanted more. Maine was quiet. Maine was small. After five years away, I realized Maine was perfect.
I look forward to sharing my Maine with my son as he grows older. Italian sandwiches on Casco Bay islands. Secret summer tide pools with makeshift boats made from washed-up treasures. Overnight hikes in the western mountains. Lakeside on a clear summer night watching shooting stars and racing satellites. A warm steamy sugar house on Maple Sugar Sunday, slushy snow, melting icicles, and an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with maple syrup snow-cones for dessert.
Portland is my city and it’s just the right size; minutes to the ocean and more Maine to explore than a lifetime allows.
