1.77 Carat Round Diamond
World’s Best Price
Every once in a while we acquire a large, older diamond in an estate buy. These we almost always recut to the best, brightest, most brilliant Royal Ideal Cut diamonds which is exactly what we did with this diamond. When the cutting of each diamond is done, we have a detailed GIA certificate done showing the plot profile, its cut, color, and clarity. When the cutting and certificate was done for this diamond we were both surprised and pleased.
The diamond, which had been an attractive 100-year-old European-Cut weighing 2.43 carats, is now a spectacular, near colorless, almost flawless Royal Ideal weighing 1.77 carats. Our dilemma is it’s not part of the standard color clarity mix for the Cross Collection. Quite frankly, the almost flawless rating poses a coming-to-market challenge. Our diamond buying team met and a suggestion was made that we price it at our cost to acquire a diamond like this on the world market. This diamond’s wholesale cost is $14,868. We are further deducting $1,000, and plan to sell for $13,868. Why? To create a stir and offer this at the single best price of any diamond of this size, cut, color, and clarity in the world. We debated for ten minutes and then voted. All three of us voted yes. We agreed we would put it up on our new Kirkwood Archival Antique and Estate Jewelry Collection for two weeks.
Our email friends always get first dibs on our newest ideas, new products, and latest breaking gem news…for this big diamond, we’re giving it first to our new Kirkwood Collection with a world’s best price. It’s just a way of saying to our 103,000 annual visitors to our website, be sure to check this new Kirkwood Collection. Then, if by Thursday, April 18, 2019, we’ve not yet found a buyer, we will announce the diamond and its world-class best price value to our 14,000 email friends (sorry guys, you almost always get first dibs except this one time).
Following is a photograph of the diamond, also following is a photograph of the certificate.
We have hundreds of ways to set this diamond. Two ring designs to consider are our Beacon Hill or the Cross Essex.
This diamond is for sale mounted, and while we rarely do this, it is also available to purchase as an unset gem.
Don’t wait. There are no second chances. We are likely never to have this combination of circumstances ever to come up again. Call, ask for Stephen.
