Ruby & Diamond Bracelet

We just finished this bracelet. It has 25 small oval rubies. It looks good under fluorescent lights. Looks better under incandescent lighting. I stepped out to the sidewalk at 2:30 in the afternoon: blue skies, full sun. The rubies were red, red, red, brilliant, spectacular. Different lighting. Different presentation. When you go to the July Garden party, women will catch your wrist and say, “Nice!” What they are responding to is the red, red, red they see in the afternoon sun. The gems are consistent. I wish rubies could all be so bright and blend and flow so nicely together. And, in between each little oval red gem is a high white diamond. This collection of red gems is best seen under evening lights at a dinner for two or at that summer garden party.

The bracelet has an ingenious safety. The gems create a continuous flow so good that it will take you a moment each time to find the opening. At that juncture, there is an under-swing that rises to catch and, once caught, locks secure to hold the bracelet safely on your wrist. This bracelet has two secure locks.

The red of ruby is a powerful color. It commands. It insists. Everyone looks whenever red walks into a room. In red gems, there is an added element of respect for she, who has a true red ruby.

Why We Love This Piece

Twenty-five little dots of color. Twenty-five lipstick red ovals march around the wrist. The gems are not huge, so they can be very fine. It’s nice to glance down and see so many gems in pure red.

Why Red?
