Just finished. I believe this is the first time we’ve made this necklace. As I pulled this piece out of its Ziplock bag I was surprised by its weight. The Maine Tourmaline weighs ½ carat, its setting is heavy. It’s all gold and has a surprising density. As I felt its weight and heft in in my hand I thought, “I really like this piece.”
I hope we have more gems this size. The gem is Sparhawk, a light mint-green Maine Tourmaline. It’s surrounded by swoosh marks…looks beautiful and has a real weight to it.
The upper loop through which the 18-inch chain slides, is articulated and has five graduated diamonds weighing .025 carats. This necklace is sweet and embodies the best of Maine gems.
