Sunset Before the Storm
Amber-Gold Citrine Ring
I grew up on a farm in Gorham, Maine. Our side of the maple tree-lined dirt road had 40 acres. On the other side of the dirt road, their farm had 30 acres. Both farms were on top of a hill. We had a primitive gravel road between the two farms. Cars and trucks had to drive slowly; my dad preferred it that way. Perhaps a dozen times over the years, dramatic late afternoon thunderstorms swept in over the farm country. I remember, on a few of those occasions, the clouds building over the two farms, the sky going dark, the sun low enough in the sky that its light would strafe in under the clouds and illuminate everything in a yellow-orange light. The amber light would only last a few minutes. Lightning off to the northwest against a charcoal-gray sky showed us what was coming. The wind would pick up, and we would race to close the windows before the rain.
Thunder and lightning storms were swift, and because we were on top of a hill, we saw all the drama and fury. We had two towering silver maples on the other side of the driveway. They took the brunt of the summer storms.
The big amber-gold citrine, cushion-cut gem, is set in a wind-blown leaf-patterned ring. This ring possesses the late golden sun and the scatter of windblown leaves.
Why We Love This Ring
It’s big. It’s bold. It holds the drama of the summer sun – all golden yellow in the minutes before the storm. The leaves are scattered after the storm.
This is not a petite ring. It’s a big gem with a checkerboard top that slices and dices the light, resulting in a glitter of golden light. If your finger size is less than a size 6 – don’t even consider this ring. It becomes more ideal at 6 ½, 7 ½, 8 ½. It’s a big gem and a handsome golden presence. Wear this ring, and people will notice, people will comment. Wear this ring, and you will have a companion on your hand it takes on a life of its own.
Often we tell you when the first one is sold and that we are already making more. Not this ring. It’s too important. If you’re #2 or #3, or #4, call us to discuss. 10-12 weeks – Can we make more? …Maybe.
Here Is My Prediction
You will receive this ring. You will slip it on, and not want to take it off because the golden light is so beautiful. But you should remove the ring at certain times during certain activities to assure its safety and security, and so you don’t wear it out too soon.
