An evening. Yes, an evening with white linen tablecloths, waiters with bow ties, waiters that know the food and cooking times and tenderness. The sommelier who pours the wine and spent two years in France studying grapes and vineyards and can answer all aspects of the wine you have chosen. Your dinner partner, who dines here several times a year, was surprised when he turned a fork over and saw that it was stamped “Sterling Silver” with English hallmarks. You were surprised that he didn’t know because he’s always so thorough. After dinner and dessert he takes you on a walk through the garden where you have another glass of wine and mingle with the guests.

Gold. A Material Unlike Any Other.
Gold is not like other things we buy and use.
It wears gently. It doesn’t disappear. It doesn’t forget.
For over 10,000 years, humanity has searched for gold—across deserts, mountains, rivers, and oceans. Every speck of gold ever found has been saved. In all that time, everything we’ve gathered would fit into a single cube just 72 feet on each side.
Gold is rare. Truly rare. And because of that, gold has always mattered.
At Cross, we believe in gold—not as an investment or a trend, but as a material that carries meaning. Where a single moment can become something that lasts for generations.
The stories that follow explore why gold has held this place in the human story for thousands of years—and why it still does.

Gold is flattering in the same way late afternoon light is flattering. Gold smooths. Gold warms. Gold forgives. Gold picks up the warmth of your complexion and gives it back. Gold makes the hand look smoother. Gold makes the collar bone look softer. Gold makes the whole person look more like themselves on their best day. Gold keeps doing what it does best, holding warm light in a way that makes the human body look and feel more alive.
Gold is warm. Gold is forgiving. Gold understands faces, hands, and movement. Gold is about comfort. It is light you trust. Gold is the light you choose. Gold is the light you come home to.
We understand the magic of real gold. Fine jewelry, well-designed and well-made is the best. Real gold is transformative because it softens and forgives. Real gold makes you look like yourself on your very best day.

We are looking to protect you from tariffs. We believe tariffs will eventually go away. Here is what we are doing now while we all wait for tariffs to vanish.
First, most of our jewelry is already made in America. Gems come from all over the world. We bought gems in quantity years ago, pre-tariff. Maine tourmaline – We mine tourmaline and other gems just 25, 50 and 75 miles north of Portland, Maine. So of course, Maine tourmaline will always be tariff free.
And finally, if we acquire anything overseas that comes with a tariff, we will clearly state the country of origin, the tariff imposed, and the before and after price. It’s almost a non-problem because we have so few things that fit in that tariff category.

You know how quickly time moves. You may even be surprised at how soon you have arrived at this time and age. Seriously consider what you would really love to have and why. And then don’t wait any longer.
