The Broadway Musical
Broadway is another world. I went to jewelry shows in New York City for ten years and managed to avoid Broadway until one day, I bought a ticket and couldn’t believe the sound, the life, the color, and how a play or musical could touch the soul so deeply.
When I went to see Cats, I was midway into my Broadway years. I wasn’t expecting much…it blew me away. The songs, characters, the music still plays in my head. I liked it so much, that the next year I went back to see it again.
This piece we call Cats the Broadway Musical is the outrageousness of costume and motion and movement of voice and music. It captures the mystery, speed, and slow tail-tapping contemplation. Broadway produces something that moves one to the depths of their being. This piece produces something that captures aspects of my 18 years of having a cat and my Broadway years. The necklace is a symbol that is both beautiful and mysterious. It’s cats costuming, preparing for the next performance.
