Coconut Mai Tai with a Maraschino Cherry, Ruby & Diamond Necklace

The Mai Tai was better than any I had while in Hawaii. It was so good; I’ve saved the resort recipe for 35 years. I’m going to share it with you today.

On our first day on Maui, stepping off the plane, we both received real flower leis. At our hotel, they greeted us with Mai Tais and a table a mile long under palm trees with over a dozen Hawaiian fruits sliced to go with our drinks. A key ingredient in the Hawaiian Mai Tai was coconut rum. Coconut interiors are white. Our 19 diamonds are white. The shape of the necklace is like a coconut. The gold and chain are white. The big oval red ruby at the bottom of the coconut is the Maraschino cherry. It was a great welcome and a great drink. The coconut Mai Tai, Red Ruby necklace is a great piece of jewelry.

The necklace, laid on a dime, is actually a little bigger than the dime. From top to bottom, it is 19mm or 3/4″. It’s a good size…open, airy, looks nice, and hangs well. In addition to being 19mm high, it has 19 diamonds; all are graduated sizes. Tiny at the top, growing larger as they sweep down both sides. All the diamonds are natural Earth mined, high white, sparkly, brilliant, and set in white gold. The diamonds sweep down to the maraschino cherry red oval ruby. At the top, one span of diamonds sweeps over the other span. Our 18-inch chain slides through a hidden slot in the back, allowing for an easy flow of chain and pendant. Eighteen inches also places the ruby diamond necklace two inches from your heart.
