1885, Harvard is back in session and the Harvard senior Paul is escorting Mave of Emerson to an afternoon of ice skating on the Charles. Paul is particularly adept at figure 8’s and a maneuver he called, “Twirl the Girl”. Mave, well Mave had all she could do to stand up on skates.
A combination of Paul’s patience and Mave’s persistence, she was full in with “twirl the girl” in no time. After skating they warmed up with a couple of hot chocolates. It was the first of many dates.
