Many sapphires are simply too dark. Often to see the blue in these sapphires you’d need to stand under intense direct light. We choose gems one at a time, and evaluate them under different lighting conditions to find the best performing sapphires. We specially craft our earrings to fit each gem.

How to Shop for Sapphire Earrings

When choosing a pair of sapphire earrings in a jewelry store it’s vital to not merely look at them in ours or any jewelers showcase because with lights above focusing light directly down into the gems it’s possible to pump enough light from above to get any sapphire to look blue.

Hold the sapphires up to your ear or better yet try one or both on (we let you do that)* to see how much blue they will truly show in normal everyday lighting. Don’t let any jeweler tell you the darker the better.
