On Golden Pond

You saw the movie, 1981 – Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn, and Jane Fonda. We all saw the movie. They filmed it on Big and Little Squam Lake in New Hampshire. They claimed it was Squam Lake, New Hampshire. It was actually Belgrade Lakes in Belgrade, Maine. And actually, Great Pond in Belgrade, Maine. The author Ernest Thompson who wrote the play, his mother had a cottage on the lake. He didn’t want to ruin the lake for her, so he insisted when the movie was about to be filmed that they do it somewhere to the west and not bother to mention Belgrade.

So here is what you see as you look at this ring. The flared sides of the ring are the wake of the 1950 Chris Craft used in the movie. The white stripe down the east and west sides of the ring are wake extensions. The Sunset Citrine is the late afternoon sun setting in the West and its golden light on the lake. Of course the little side diamonds are the sparkly light on the water.
