We Were Surprised
When we first started doing Maine tourmaline seriously, we made up lots of rings, necklaces, and earrings. We did this for several years. Then one day we said “which color is more popular? Pink or green tourmaline?” So, we went back a year and did a count of everything that had sold for the year. When we tallied it all up, we were shocked to find out that out of the hundreds of pieces sold pink versus green, we came up with a virtual tie for value. The difference was $89.55 between the two colors.
Today 45 years later I don’t recall which color was greater. Staff had made bets and to end with a tie seemed amazing. We took a second look at our sales records and this did not surprise us. Men gravitated towards green and women gravitated towards pink. Forty years ago, there were some real different gender choices. It averaged out though. The pink versus green came out almost perfectly even.
Here we show a single design. We’ve made three with pink world tourmaline and another identical design with a blue sapphire. You have a choice, pink or blue. Could we make a world green tourmaline? It would probably take 6-8, maybe 10 weeks.
And yes, this is world tourmaline. It’s beautiful.
