Mid-July. Bees buzzing on flowers. Bees hovering around scent and color. Bees drinking amber gold, ready to make honey.
I watched two bees this morning. I have 4 patches of Day Lillys down by the stream. Each group has a large protector rock. Each group is in a space of 4 square feet. Each patch has wild grasses and wild flowers growing within. What I found fascinating was the bees ignored the big bold garden center flowers and went for the purple flowers of the wild peas. Bees know the real flower is the best, rather than the garden center flower.

The necklace is an inch high with two bees, the bodies are carved from fossilized walrus ivory* with 3 sunrise citrine in honey cells. Sterling silver necklace, 18” sterling silver chain.
