Peekaboo Peridot & Diamond Ring

Story based on photo of ring nestled the grass: A few weeks ago I took several pieces of jewelry on a field trip to a park for photography. I looked for interesting backgrounds with an eye toward texture and light: flowers, stone walls, beach stones, driftwood, ocean.
My favorite photo came at the end of the day. When I got back to my car there was a patch of fresh spring green grass nearby. It was long, weeks past due for a mowing. I went over, sat down, and took out the one green gemstone I had with me, a brilliant peridot with a halo frame of diamonds.
I set the ring in the grass, it nestled perfectly into the long tussle of soft blades. Young and fresh, the grass glowed in the afternoon sun. And the peridot, it performed brilliantly in the shadow and light. The two elements were in total harmony.

I Spy With My Little Eye…
When my son was four, five, six years old we played “I spy with my little eye”. A fun game of search, with lessons in questioning and perseverance.
A great place to play was a basement or garage, spaces and places packed with an odd assortment of old tools, sports equipment, knicknacks, bags and bottles filled with all sorts and kinds of things.
When I took this picture, the first thought that came to mind was “I spy”. I think this version of the game is one many adults would love to play!
