We Love Maine

Because our state has forests, mountains, lakes and of course, the ocean. Our ocean is our front yard. It’s salt, wind, waves, islands, and land which reaches in long fingers to the sea. Maine is easy. Maine is relaxing and welcoming too. We create jewelry to touch the mind, heart, and soul.

What You Really Want

An evening. Yes, an evening with white linen tablecloths, waiters with bow ties, waiters that know the food and cooking times and tenderness. The sommelier who pours the wine and spent two years in France studying grapes and vineyards and can answer all aspects of  the wine you have chosen. Your dinner partner, who dines here several times a year, was surprised when he turned a fork over and saw that it was stamped “Sterling Silver” with English hallmarks. You were surprised that he didn’t  know because he’s always so thorough. After dinner and dessert he takes you on a walk through the garden where you have another glass of wine and mingle with the guests.

Cross’ Design Philosophy

For instance, we show three very different designs above and each design echoes Cross’ philosophy. First, our sapphires are a true blue color, light enough that you can step into the shadows and still see the color blue. You can go for fine dining, low lights, white tablecloth, with a sophisticated wait staff… And in the candlelight you can still see a true blue color.

The physical design – all three rings shown above sit low, close to the finger, and are smooth to the touch. There is harmony in the center-to-side relationships. Cross designs have a truly nice visual flow. We design and create jewelry for people of the real world.

Our Solution to Tariffs

We are looking to protect you from tariffs. We believe tariffs will eventually go away. Here is what we are doing now while we all wait for tariffs to vanish.

First, most of our jewelry is already made in America. Gems come from all over the world. We bought gems in quantity years ago, pre-tariff. Maine tourmaline – We mine tourmaline and other gems just 25, 50  and 75 miles north of Portland, Maine. So of course, Maine tourmaline will always be tariff free.

And finally, if we acquire anything overseas that comes with a tariff, we will clearly state the country of origin, the tariff imposed, and the before and after price. It’s almost a non-problem because we have so few things that fit in that tariff category.
