Diving Dolphins
Port & Starboard
These are nice. These are rare. These are precious. Diving dolphins, Gem size 5mm. I wish we had a hundred sets. Alas, we have just ten sets made up in this ring design. Can we make more? Not likely. We are at the end of this style, having used up all the colors of Maine tourmaline in this size.
If you’re a sailor, don’t miss out. This is a double symbol of two lives living together and pink and green tourmaline representing port and starboard channel markers. The tourmaline sets are similar…the tourmaline colors vary slightly. Choose your favorite in this email.
You’re Dressed For the Occasion
You’ve known the captain for years. He’s neat, trim, and super organized. He can be the life of the party and funny too. You’ve been invited on his boat with a few of your friends for an afternoon cruise. The decks are teak; the hardware is polished brass. His crew is fastidious, and his summer cook is a legend. You’ve dressed for the occasion, white blouse, pastel blue scarf, sharp shorts and boat shoes. You’re ready. You look like you belong. Then, of course, there’s the finishing touch – your Private Yacht, Port and Starboard Diving Dolphins ring. A touch of color, appropriately placed helped by this mnemonic device that says, “After the party there is no port left,” which means pink is always worn on the left side.
Why We Love This Design
A customer suggested pink and green gems for port and starboard. We made a pair of earrings for that customer. They looked so good, we made a pair for us. We tagged them, put them into the showcase, and sold them the same day to another sailor. We made more and they quickly became a best-seller among our yachting crowd. It’s now two decades later, and we have found homes for hundreds of pairs of these channel marker earrings. They speak a subtle language, suggesting you know your way forward, aft, port, and starboard. Yachtsmen respect that.
More Recent Edition
The Diving Dolphins ring is a more recent edition of the Port and Starboard concept. We’re starting with 10 rings, all look awesome. We don’t expect them to last long. If you’re into boating, yachting, or any sport on the ocean, you should have this ring. After these 10 sell, can we make more? Probably never. Fine gems present all jewelers with this challenge of limited production. It’s a great ring, a great look – looks awesome on the hand.
