Let Love and Friendship Reign, Classic Claddagh Ring

We’ve sold Claddagh rings for decades. It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but I never truly understood all the meaning and symbolism behind the design until I started researching it for this email. The history is fascinating — and the message (love, loyalty, and friendship) is timeless and beautiful.

It’s made up of three elements, each with its own meaning:

• Heart — symbolizes love
• Hands — symbolize friendship
• Crown — symbolizes loyalty

Together, they represent the ideal relationship: “Let love and friendship reign.”

How It’s Worn (and What Each Way Means)

The way a Claddagh ring is worn tells a story about the wearer’s relationship status:

1. On the right hand, heart facing outward (away from you) You’re single — your heart is open to love.
2. On the right hand, heart facing inward (toward you) You’re in a relationship — your heart has been captured.
3. On the left hand, heart facing inward You’re married or engaged — your love and loyalty are sealed.
