You know what a small green olive stuffed with red pimento tastes like. You know the little glass jar, screw metal top. It’s from a vineyard over looking the Mediterranean,  planted originally by monks. You get the glass jar home from the grocery store, you unscrew the top…and yes the first few you could pick out with a thumb and index finger, but you really need a fork to proceed. The fork, spearing and lifting, the salt, the sweet green olive taste and the red pimento stuffed inside…what a treat.

How Many Can We Make?

Our first one took five months. No two will ever likely be the same. Number two and number three, probably 3-4 months to make. The mounting is custom-made to fit. Want this? Don’t wait. Because you could wait and wait and there’s another guy in California who’s waiting too.

The colors are beautiful together. The red of ruby and the green of our SparHawk Mint Green Teal tourmaline from the world’s best and newest tourmaline mine just 28 miles north of our store. The big tourmaline is a twilight-cut, meaning it has a checkerboard pattern of faceting. Many flashes of light and medium green, we call it the salty olive taste. The rubies are real, red, natural gems – brilliant and in truth so unexpected in an olive to have removed the seed and replaced it with red pimento.

To do this in gems is a hoot, it’s fun, it’s playful, and over the years it will be a rarity you love to wear. This is one of those pieces for the woman who has everything, a fun party piece.
