The rhythm of rowing was a dance she knew well, a conversation between herself and the sea. The wooden oars felt solid in her hands, worn smooth by years of use.
She had grown up along these shores, learning the art of rowing from her grandfather. The dory was a humble boat, unassuming and sturdy, yet it held a special place in her heart. It was a symbol of freedom, a means to explore. She loved the simplicity of it all, in the way the boat responded to her every command.
As she rowed, the rhythm of the oars became a meditation, the steady splash and pull a soothing mantra. She glanced around, taking in the rugged coastline. The gulls called overhead, their cries echoing across the water, and she could smell the salt in the air and feel the cool breeze on her face.
The morning sun began to warm the day. She paused and let the dory drift. A seal popped its head up in the distance. She loved moments like these.
