This is the arrival of a new day.
When my kids were small, they were still good sports. Sunday was for a wild ride into the unknown. We had no destination and no time limit other than sundown. We would hit the road with nothing in mind other than pure discovery. With a full tank of gas and money for lunch, we were ready.
We did coastal; we did country; we did lakes and mountains. We visited shops. There was kid fine dining – McDonald’s or pizza. One Sunday, we came home with a 150-pound pumpkin that was so big that the trunk lid had to be roped down.
The pumpkin spent weeks wandering about the yard at night until it was carved as a jock-o-lantern. The seeds of the monster pumpkin were saved, dried, and planted the following year. One daughter still grows monster pumpkins.

Serendipity Sunday
Sunday comes with space and time. It slips in at the end of the week and allows us our needed rest and recovery. We can breathe. Sunrise comes with a golden circle of citrine. Blue Sky topaz rides along the sky and curls into the tail of serendipity. This is a talisman of serenity. Wear it on Sundays as you ride into the countryside in your convertible with the top down.
Each Serendipity Sunday necklace is handmade in our Portland shop.
The morning arrival starts with a golden Atlantic sunrise, rising out of a blue sea. Everything is open to unlimited possibilities. We are ready to explore.
The sterling silver Serendipity Sunday small necklace is 1-inch high. The Blue Sky topaz is 5mm round, and the sun is a 3mm round Atlantic Sunrise citrine. The 18-inch chain slides freely through the hidden loop in the back. Serendipity is the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy, beneficial way. Serendipity is making desirable discoveries almost by accident.
