Two Worlds & the Missing Planet

Meteorite Necklace

There is a space between Mars and Jupiter where there should have been another planet. All that remains is the asteroid belt. This is where most comets, asteroids, and meteors come from.

This is the Gibeon Meteorite, a piece of this missing planet. Sliced thin and set within a circle of earthly gold. This is a landscape of another planet, the closest any of us may ever come to outer space.

We make our Two Worlds Missing Planet Necklaces two ways: with and without a diamond. Without is a barren lunarscape, with diamond represents the first star of the evening on this far off long ago world.

On Meteorite Surface

The Gibeon Meteorite entered our atmosphere approximately thirty-thousand years ago, travelling from deep space for four billion years before falling in a shower of fragments over a large region of what is now Namibia.

Known as “the king of irons” for its high nickel content, the Gibeon meteorite has proven to be ideal for working in jewelry designs, particularly because of the beautiful crystalline patterns which are unique to each piece.

This patterning, known as the Widmanstatten pattern (shown above), tells the story of slow cooling over millions of years. The pattern does not appear in irons of earth—only in those which have come to earth as meteorites. Every slice of meteorite will have a different pattern, unique like a human fingerprint.

90-Day Returns/Exchanges

Our extended ninety days, for a small business, is almost unheard of. Truth is, we shop for gifts too, and rather than scrambling at the last minute and feeling the tension of time, we like this more relaxed approach. We wish everyone did something like this… it would be a kinder, gentler world.
