I once knew a woman who loved navy blue. Had a passion for all things navy. There was one gem in the world that embodied her ideal shade of navy blue, and that was Lapis Lazuli. King Tut’s people, 1300 BC in Egypt, sent emissaries to Afghanistan to secure the best bluest navy for art objects and to inlay the Tut death mask.
