Viking Original Design
Cross Country Ski Wedding Ring
Made from 1,000 year old Viking Pattern
We discovered three bronze bracelets at an international auction of antiquities. Each was hand-made, hand-stamped with rich patterned designs. The bracelets were 1,000 year old Viking originals found east of Finland in the shallow waters of Lake Lagoda, Europe’s largest lake. They were remarkably well preserved.
We acquired the bracelets and set about reproducing them. With some minor restoration we preserved the detailed patterns, while at the same time kept the aged and rustic appeal of the original. We currently offer each bracelet in sterling silver or 14K yellow gold.
We later came back and adapted one of the bracelets patterns to a wedding ring. The center panel has crossed skis, then to the right a slender evergreen tree pattern, then another crossed ski panel, one panel has a snowflake. The bronze bracelet shown below is the 1,000 year old Viking original.

The ring like the original bracelet has a rustic look
as one might expect after 1,000 years.
Around 1,000A.D. Vikings became Christianized and expanded throughout Europe and beyond, establishing a vast trading network. Lake Lagoda was one of the pathways leading to the deeply forested interior of Europe and many of the important Viking trade centers. The original 1,000 year old Cross Country Ski Bracelet is on display in our store. If you ask we’ll even let you hold his ancient artifact.
Each ring has a plain section for easy sizing adjustments.
Antiquing
An antiquing has been added to the silver version. This gives the ring a time-worn aged appearance. The gold version does not have this antiquing, but with wear and time the recessed areas will darken.
Comfort Contour Fit
In crafting this ring comfort was essential. Each ring has a smooth slightly rounded interior for all-day comfort.
